SIGNIFICANCE OF THE THRONE
Throughout the Dominion yesterday King George VI and Queen Elizabeth were acclaimed by thousands at loyal gatherings, and in many places religious services were held, at which due recognition was made of the significance of the Throne in the life and development of the nation. In Wellington a Scots service was held in bt. Andrew's Presbyterian -Church, where special emphasis was laid on i (he association of (he Crown with the Presbyterian Church of Scotland, and also on the fact that tite Empire now has a Scottish Queen whose proud lineage goes back to the lime of Robert the Bruce There was also,a united sendee in Wesley Methodist Church, and the Jewish community celebrated the occasion with a service, m (he Synagogue.
