The Canterbury Association appears to be taking the leading place in associations this year so far: as city teams are concerned, as it has been reported that their numbers have jumped to 125 teams. Last year they had about 110 teams. It is expected that the Canterbury B team which is to play Wellington B on August 14 at Christchurch will be stronger than last year's team,' and they hope^to annex the Cup again. The Southland Association are well ahead with their Queen Carnival . arrangements, and hope to raise a large sum towards their representative team's expenses.
