NICE BATTING BY KERR

The New- Zealand I cricketers commenced the second match of their tour today, cgainst the M.C.C. at Lord's. The start was delayed until the afternoon to enable the team to see the Coronation procession, and play was then restricted to an hour and a quarter through rain. New Zealand batted first, and scored 56 for two wickets. There was an attendance of 2000. The wicket favoured the batsmen, but the indifferent light was a handicap. ;,.':'*'' The teams are:— M.C.C.—R. E. S. Wyatt (captain),. —.- Moore, T. N. Pearce, J. W: A. Stephenson, A. D. Baxter, S. C. Griffith, J. H. Human, E. Hendren, W. J. Edrich, D. C. S. Compton,- and J. :M. Sims. New Zealand.—H. G.J.Vivian (cap T tain), J. L. Kerr,' W. A. Hadlee, W. N. Carson, D. A. R. Moloney," E. W. 'Tindill, M. P. Donnelly, A. W. Roberts, M. W. Wallace, N. Gallichan, and J. Cowie. Kerr and Hadlee gave the side a useful start, scoring 41 runs in 45 minutes against steady bowling by Stephenson, Baxter,-and Sims. Kerr batted nicely, and was out through being sent, back after starting for a short single. .
