Shanghai is nearly,' 7000 miles from Hollywood, and a shipping strike prevented importing any "properties" from the Celestial Empire for use in the picture, yet an entire street in that city was reproduced for R.K.0.-Radio's "China Passage" in just five days. This apparent miracle was accomplished ■ through the joint facilities of the Los Angeles extensive Chinatown section, and the various property-supply companies that flourish in Hollywood and can on short notice provide anything from an authentic Borgia poison ring to. a herd- of performing elephants.
