BILBAO AND MADRID
NUMEROUS CASUALTIES
(Received May 12, 1.30 p.m.) LONDON, May 11. A message from Bilbao stales that, aware that the town was overcrowded with refugees, the rebels delivered ten aerial bombing raids on Bilbao. The raids were more or less ineffective, accomplishing nothing of military value. Meanwhile Basque battalions on the fighting front recaptured the heights of the Sollube Mountain, inflicting 1000 casualties. A report from Madrid states that the insurgents heavily shelled the city. Fifty-five persons were killed and 130 woun.ded. .
