ADDINGTON MARKET.

(By Telwapli—l'res3 Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 11. The weekly Addington stock market was held today, because of the Coronation Day holiday tomorrow. Entries were generally smaller. • The store sheep section as far as ewes were concerned was removed from absolute mediocrity by the inclusion of some good sorts of ewes from the Chatham Islands. One line of these sold at 27s 6d for 400 odd, others at 255, and failing and s.m. local ewes at up to 22s 6d. Chatham wethers sold well at up to 26s 3d. Wether lambs were easier. ■ Fat lambs sold at full export rates for a small penning. The best made from 30s to 365. The fat sheep entry was half the usual size, including a small proportion of wethers. Outside orders were in for the limited supply of these, and they sold from 3s to 4s a head better. Good ewes sold unchanged, but export sorts were easier by about Is. Recent values for fat cattle were maintained for a smaller entry of. prime fat cattle, but unfinished steers and cows, of which the entry was principally comprised, sold at slightly depressed rates. Best beef made from £13 to £15.17s 6d, good £11 10s to £12 10s, and light down to £9. Best heifers sold at from £8 to £10 10s, good £6 10s' to £7 15s, and inferior down to £5 ss. Best cows made £7 to £10 10s, good to £6 15s, inferior down to £4. In the fat pig section there was a sharp recovery in porker values. The average, price was 6d to 6£d a lb. Baconers maintained recent rates, average values being 52d to 6d a lb. PAHIATCA SALE. ■ A good yarding of sheep ■ came forward at the weekly Pahiatua stock sale yesterday* and attracted large attendances. The yarding was comprised mostly of lambs, and although competition was not keen, prices were much on a par with recent sales. There was a totar clearance under the hammer at the following prices:—Failingmouthed ewes, r.w.SJX ram, 20s; lowconditioned, 12s Id to 14s 7d; good woolly w.f.w. lambs, 17s 6d to 18s Id; medium,. 14s 7d to 16s lOd.
