PRICES IMPROVING

The Bank of New, Zealand, produce department, has received the following advice from its London office, as at close of business this week:—There is a weaker tendency, for. wethers. Weaker values are ruling for ewes owing to lack of demand. The demand for lambs is. improving, but prices are practically unchanged. There is a fair demand for chilled -beef. Trade generally is brighter with a better demand. Wethers, light, 4 3-8 dto s|d per lb; heavy. 4d to i 3-8 d per lb; ewes, 3£d to 43-8 d per lb; lambs, 2's 6 7-8 d to 7 l-8d per lb, B's 6|d to 6Jd per lb,' 4's fi}d to 6 3-8 d per lb, seconds 6 5-8 d to 7d per lb; chilled hinds, 5d to 5Jd per lb; chilled fores. 4d to 4Jd ..per lb..
