IMPROVED MARKET TONE

SYDNEY, May 3.
The outstanding feature in a quiet market on the Sydney Slock Exchange today was the sharp recovery of Broken Hill Proprietary new shares, which, rose, 3s .to 77s 6d. Barriers were a shade firmer. Industrials were firm but slow.
