EASTBOURNE
There was an attendance or about fifty people at a meeting convened last evening by the Mayor of Eastbourne (Mr. E. W. Wise) to consider an appeal for contributions to the King George V Memorial Health Camp Fund. Mr Wise presided and the speakers were Miss M. Magill and Mr. J. W. Heenan, Under-Secretary to the Department of Internal Affairs.
A committee was set up consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Wise, Mr. W. Hutchings, Miss M. Magill, Mrs. H. Palmer, Messrs. W. H. Barton, C. M. Hill, Rudman, B. P. Lenihan, R. Loe, J. Cook, F: Fisher, White, and Watson. Mr. D. R. Hoggard, chairman of the Hutt County Council, was associated with the appeal on behalf of the district he represents. Contributions to last night's appeal amounted to £17 ss.
