NEGOTIATIONS WITH MINERS
(British Official Wireless.) (Received May 4, 2.25 p.m.)
RUGBY, May 3. The Minister of Mines reported at House of Commons question time on the recent negotiations in connection with the dispute in the Nottinghamshire coalfield and on the decision of the national delegates' conference of the Mineworkers' Federation to tender notices in all the coalfields to terminate the contracts on May 22.
Captain Crookshank added: "I am in close touch with both sides, and I wish to say nothing which might prejudice the solution of a very difficult problem. I regret, therefore, that I can give no further details this afternoon, but,. I hope to do so later in-the-week."
