A CORONATION FUNCTION
■ (British Official Wireless.) (Received May 4, 2.45 p.m.)
RUGBY, May 3,
On the afternoon of Saturday, June 19, the King and representatives of the British Empire will plant a grove of oak trees in Windsor Great Park to commemorate his Majesty's Coronation.
The grove will consist of approximately 60 trees, and it has been decided that the King shall plant a tree at the head of the plantation and that the remainder shall be distributed geographically over the site, as far as possible, a tree representing each territory being placed in a position corresponding with the territory's compass point in relation to the British Isles. It is proposed to.make the grove as representative of the genus as possible, but only those species having vigorous habits will be used.
