TRIBUTES TO DR. KOO'S

WORK

Glowing tributes- to the ability and work of Dr. Koo .were paid at the civic reception tendered to . him and Mrs. Koo in the Council' Chamber today. There was a,large gathering of citizens and representatives of the churches, church organisations, and the Chinese, community. The Mayor (Mr. T. C. A. Hislop) presided, and the Acting Prime Minister (the Hon. P. Fraser) was present as the .'representative of the Government. .. : In extending, cordialgreetings on behalf of the citizens' of.. Wellington to Dr and Mrs. Koo, the Mayor told the gathering something of the distinction and achievements. W, Nash in speaking of Dr. Koo as a representative of China at one of the congresses of the Institute of Pacific Relations.
