BELIEVED LOST OVERBOARD

The disappearance of an elderly first-class passenger was.reported lo the police when the Union Steam Ship Company's express steamer Rangatira arrived here from Lyttelton early yesterday morning. - The- passenger was Mrs. N. G. Fulton, who was travelling with her husband, Government dairy produce grader at the Wanganui Harbour Board's stores, Castlecliff. Mrs: Fulton had been south to Hanmer, and was returning accompanied by her husband on account of her nervous condition. The two occupied a two-berth deck cabin. Shortly after 11 p.m. they retired. A stewardess who went to the cabin at about 6.30 a.m. with a glass of milk for Mrs. Fulton found her berth unoccupied. A search of the ship was made immediately, but proved fruitless.
