BIEXICO CITY, May 1. In the Davis Cup doubles J. H. Crawford and A. K. Quist (Australia) beat A. Unda arid Hernandez (Mexico), 6-2,:6-3, 6-3. ......-'., ,; The match was a straight midcourt , game. . Crawford's : overhead smashes outclassed the Mexicans.. The Australians broke through Unda's service in the fourth and eighth games md through Hernandez's in : the sixth. . Quist dropped :his service ,■. in the seventh game. Crawford won. the first game in the second set to love; Mexico won the next on . the Australians' errors. The" eleventh and twelfth games products! brilliant rallies. The Australians put on; <he.. pressure and ran out the set.- The Mexicans fought hard in the final set, but the Australians always had their measure and won comfortably. The match in which McGrath beat Tapia on Friday centred on the third set, the Mexican, assuming a surprising 3-0 lead and playing accurate and wellbalanced tennis. The Australian, however, quickly terminated his spurt with a deliberate forcing : game, leaving ; Tapia all at sea. McGrath evened the score at 3-3 and the games then alternated with service : until: a break in Tapia's service in the ninth game gave the Australian the vital lead.
