BRIGHT FORM IN TRIAL GAME
SEATOfN'S DECISIVE WIN OVER MARIST
Form shown by the '.wcnty-Uvo players in the Association football trial game on Saturday—the third this season—-was of a standard high enough to encourage the belief that Wellington will be able to field a strong team against Canterbury for the F.A. Trophy and that the combined Wellingtoh-Manawatu-Wairarapa eleven to play the Englishmen this month will give a good account of itself. There was not a "passenger" 'in tlic trial game, which was,won by the B team by 5 goals to 3. Seatoun went to ihe j head of the First A Division championship table _by_ inflicting upon Marist a heavy defeat, the suburban team winning by 6 goals to 2. Institute Old Boys accounted for Diamond by 6 goals to 3, but Waterside found Petone relatively a harder proposition, and won by the odd goal in three. Hospital and Technical OId;Boys did not play, as the former had so many men in the trial' teams. Svifts, Scottish Wanderers, and Lower Hutt continued their winning progress in the First B Division. Conditions on all grounds were fair.
