CLOUDING OVER TOMORROW

Special forecast for Wellington:— Light to moderate and variable winds, tut northerlies soon prevailing and gradually freshening. Weather fine and milder, but clouding over tomorrow. The general forecast for the .Dominion.-as a whole, issued rat : noon today, is for light to : moderate and variable winds. South-westerlies will predominate north of Kawhia and Tauranga at first, but northerlies will gradually become general and will •freshen about and to the south : of Cook Strait. The weather will be fine generally at first, but rain will develop in southern Westland and in the far south, and will gradually extend to c v trlcts with a westerly aspect. Temperatures will be milder. A slight anticyclone has gradually moved over the Dominion, with the consequence that the weather has been fin= generally, a few.isolated showers only being reported yesterday on the East Coast. Southerly winds have been strong in a few exposed places in :the latter area, but otherwise they have been mostly light in force. This morning winds were more variable in direction, with a tendency for northerlies about and to the south of Cook Strait. Calm and clear conditions last night favoured frost development, and a number of sharp ones were experienced in inland places. It was cloudy in Auckland yesterday morning, with occasional showers, but it improved in the afternoon. The wind was a light to moderate southwesterly. It was cloudy there this morning. . Wellington had a fine day with 9.1 hours of bright sunshine. A light southerly breeze prevailed, but the night.was calm, and a slight frost was recorded at Kelburn. Christchurch had a fine and sunny day with a cold south-westerly breeze. A frost of 10 degrees was registered there last night. It was still fine -this morning with a gentle south-westerly wind. Dunedin had occasional sunshine, but the weather yesterday was for the most part overcast, with a fresh southwesterly wind.
