The gusty northerly which fell like •i chill blast on Saturday's pleasant afternoon played strange pranks with some oi Hutt's best golfers' shots. It
was. a cross-wind at many holes, and in the endeavour to. cheat it some finely calculated shots found the bunkers. W. J. Davidge had a 6-in his 75, and Bryan Silk, had a 9 at one hole, taking 44 to go ,out. One of the steadiest members oil long standing is P. J. 8,. Fordham, who had a peculiar experience at the fifth. Near the green in two very. creditable shots, he found the bunker with his next, failed to get out, and later struck the pin which had been inadvertently left in, losing him another two strokes. What he did on the green did not transpire, but he reached double figures at a hole for the first time he remembers. - .
