NGAIO SUB-CENTRE
The annual meeting of the Ngaio sub-centre of the New Zealand Red Cross Society disclosed a satisfactory state of affairs financially, the balance being approximately £12, and to this was added a gift of £5 from an anonymous donor. Mr. M. S. Galloway presided, and congratulated Mr. B. J. Lynneberg on receiving the order of St. Olaf.
It was reported that the necessary preparations for the more definite work of the Red Cross in the Ngaio district were such that the coming year would be full of activity. A number of prominent persons had been approached with requests for lectures, and the indications were that a number of interesting and profitable evenings would be spent during 1937-38.
The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr. B. J. Lynneberg; vicepresidents, Messrs. L. H. Cummings and C. Farquahson; chairman, Mr. E. J. Wilson; secretary, Mrs. F. A. Thomas; treasurer, Mr. C. MofTat.
