A DRUID MINISTER
It is in no lay capacity that the Hon. W. Lee Martin carries out the duties of Minister in Charge of Friendly Societies. While he could not claim membership of the Manchester Unity Independent Order of Oddfellows, whose installation ceremony he attended last evening, his friendly society work is extensive. He disclosed that for more than forty years he had been an active member of the United Ancient Order of Druids, in which time he had held every office it was possible to occupy, with the exception of treasurer. He had reached the highest position in the Grand Lodge, that of Grand President of the Order. The Minister admitted that he showed no discrimination in his choice of a society. His wife had suggested his joining a society, and he agreed to join the first one to which he was invited.
