AUCKLAND TRAINS

CHANGES ANNOUNCED

Substantial savings in the time taken by the express trains between Auckland and Wellington have been ax-rang-ed by the Railway Department, and from Sunday, June 20, a new time-table will come into operation. The Limited express will leave Auckland at 7.1S p.m., instead of at 7 o'clock, and will arrive at Wellington at 9.30 next morning, instead of at 9.41. It will leave Wellington at 7.15 at night, as at present, and will reach Auckland at 9.30 the following morning, instead of at 9.40.

These new times will mean a saving on the Auckland-Wellington run of 1!6 minutes and a saving of ten minutes on the Wellington-Auckland journey. They will also mean that the arrival and departure times for each terminus will coincide, and that both expresses will take the same time, 14i hour;;, instead of 14 hours 41 minutes for the downward, and 14 hours 25 minutes for the upward, trip.

The times for the afternoon expresses will also be altered as from June 20. Leaving Auckland \at 3 o'clock, as at present, the train will arrive at Wellington at 7 o'clock next, morning, instead of at 7.42. The train that leaves Wellington at 3 o'clock will reach Auckland at 7 o'clock.
