MR. EDEN'S VISIT
EXCHANGE OF VIEWS

RUGBY, April 27.
The Foreign Secretary arrived at Croydon. by air from Brussels this evening at the end of a two-day visit of courtesy to the Belgian capital during which he was received by the King of the Belgians and had conversations with Belgian statesmen.
A communique issued in Brussels this morning at the conclusion of the conversations ■ states:-r
"Mr. Eden, M. Van Zeeland, and 'M. Spaak had a number of conversations on Monday and Tuesday in the course of which they took the opportunity to discuss current problems of chief interest to the two countries. Among these problems the British ,and Belgian Ministers gave their special attention on the one hand to questions concerned "with the strengthening of peace in Europe and in particular to the preparation of a new security pact for Western Europe, and on the other to economic questions which form the object of the mission which has recent-, ly been entrusted to M. Van Zeeland. The conversations, which consisted purely of an exchange of views and had not the character of negotiations, were carried on in an atmosphere of complete cordiality. They afforded an opportunity to make clear how dose Was the conformity between points of view of the two Governments."
