BENEFIT CONCERT.
The citizens of Wellington will have a golden v opportunity .of helping: a worthy cause tomorrow evening by attending at the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall,■when a grand benefit concert by leading artiste, under Mr. Leon, de Mauny, will be presented/The purpose of this entertainment"* is an; effort to provide sufficient- funds to further the studies of New Zealand's young blind violinist," Ethel Gibson. 'Miss Gibson is only fourteen years of age, the daughter of: a returned soldier, and her instructords convinced .that, given, a reasonable-degree,of opportunity, her success as a violinist -~i£~. assured.- Unfortunately at present the use of Braille in her studies is tiring and tedious, and it is felt that with the provision of a piano more expedition in the furtherance of her studies would result. With a view-to' achieving this object, a number of well-known artists have signified their . intention of; endeavouring to make the performance an outstanding success:' r The" vocalists are Mrs. Wilfred "Andrews, Miss; Christina Ormiston, Mr. Harison Cook, and Mr. Roy Hill; the elocutionist,* Miss Gladys Gunn; and the instrumentalists Madame Evelyn de Mauny, Mr. Leon de Mauny, and Mr. Claude.
