Four lots from the Elderslie Stud were included in the annual yearling sales which opened today. A brown colt by Iliad from Dancing Lady was sold to W. Henderson, Sydney, for 700 guineas; a brown filly by Iliad from Refinement, to Mackinnon and Cox, Melbourne, for 425 guineas; a bay colt by Night Raid from Graciosa, to R. Trihey, Victoria, for 550 guineas; and a chestnut filly by Iliad from Lady Violet, to F. Keele'y, Boorowa, for 300 guineas. . Good prices were obtained for Heroic yearlings, the six colts offered today realising 5275 guineas. Colts from Desdemona, Milan, and Luminos changed hands at 1300 guineas, 1200 guineas, and 1050 guineas respectively. There was a keen demand for Veilmqnds, Mr. E. J. Watt paying 700 guineas for a colt from Peeka. A Marconigram colt from Steady Glass realised 850 guineas. New Zealand purchases included: Baralong—lmperial, colt, W. C. Ring, 120 guineas; Baralong—Torquay filly, T. R. George, 65 guineas; Simeon's Fort —Valeriante colt, J. Jameson, Masterton, 350 guineas; Caledon—Lady Rawson filly, w. Wade, 60 guineas; Doric— Tamarzand colt, T. R. George, 90 guineas.
