JOCKEY OFF TO FRANCE
Journeying to France to try his luck as a jockey there, R. Marsden, a wellknownv Australian horseman, was a through passenger in the Monterey which called in at Auckland this week.
It is the lure of trying something new and also to join his friend, the Australian jockey W. R. (Togo) Johnstone, that Marsden has left Sydney with his wife, for he was having a successful time in Australia, having won four races in the last five starts. His last win was only last week, when on Boyou he easily won ■at Ascot. "Johnstone has done well in France in the last four or five years, and has been writing to me for some time pointing out that prospects are good," said Marsden.
