FIRST ST. LEGER WINNER
Sir Charles Clifford had his first •St. Leger success when Wild Chase won at Trentham yesterday. The late Sir George Clifford previously won the New. Zealand St. Leger with Treadmill in 1904 and with Counterfeit in 1912. No Clifford horse has yet won the Great Northern Derby. Wild Chase is the first son of Paper Money to have won either a Derby or St. Leger.
