MASTERTON SALE

Wright, Stephenson, and Co., Ltd., reports: A yarding far in excess to advertised numbers came forward at the Masterton sa,le on Wednesday. Our entry comprised 4550 sheep of all classes. .There was a fair attendance, and buyers from outside districts were operating. Buyers were very cautious and only the best lines met with anything like good competition. Inferior and backward-conditioned ewes were practically neglected, and lines of quite useful ewes changed hands at. prices which appeared very much in favour of buyers. Store wethers met a weak market and looked good buying for anyone who could hold for a month or-two. Lambs met with a dragging sale and only well-grown, good-condi-tioned lambs were sought after. We had to pass two or three lines of ewes, but otherwise made a total clearance as follows: —
