The Rev. C. E. B. Muschamp, priest-in-charge of All Saints, Exmouth, has accepted the yicariate of St. Michael's, Christchurch, where he is to/arrive in May. Father Muschamp has spent five years at Exmouth. Previously he lived in Australia for twenty years, and his wife is Australian born.

The results are announced of the examination (in written subjects) of officers with a view to promotion in the Regular Army, Indian Army, and Dominion Forces, which was held at stations abroad, excluding India, last October. Successful candidates in. the New Zealand Military Forces were:— New Zealand Staff Corps, Captains V. G. Jer.vis and A. J. Moore; Lieuts. W. H. Alexander, A. P. McCormack, J. H. Sharp, and K. N. Todd.

Major-General Sir Charles Gwynn, X.C.8., C.M.G., D.5.0., who has left the Reserve of Officers on attaining the age of 67, has had nearly fifty years' cadet, Regulai', and Reserve, service He was educated at Dublin, Woolwich, arid Camberley,. and has been survey commissioner in East Africa, Director of Military Art in Australia, a commander and chief of staff with, the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps, brigadier on the Rhine, G.S. Brigadier of the East Command, and Commandant of the Staff College at Camberley.

Sir John Lamb, X.C.8., LL.D., will arrive in New Zealand by the Awatea on March 30, accompanied by his niece, Miss M. D. Smart. A tour of both islands is contemplated. For seven years, 1926-33, Sir John was Under-Secretary for Scotland.
