SWIMMING RECORD BROKEN

DUNEDIN, March 10,
At the Otago University swimming championships tonight, J. C. W. Davies lowered the Otago record' in the 220 yards breaststroke, held by R. Geddes, by 3sec, his time being 3min lOsec. This will not be recognised as an Otago record as it was not an official Otago championship meeting. Davies, who comes from Taranaki, won comfortably. '
