VALEDICTORY EVENING

Miss L. McHolm and Miss V. Peck, two popular members of the staff of Hannah's, Ltd., Lower Hutt, who have received notice of transfer to the Wellington staff, were accorded a farewell evening by Mrs. J. K. Bonner, wife of the manager of the Lower Hutt branch. Mauve, cyclamen, and white asters were arranged with effect on the supper table of the lounge, and bowls of zinnias and marigolds completed the decorations. At supper, Mr. J. K. Bonner spoke on behalf of the staff, and presented each of the guests of honour with suitably-inscribed gifts, Miss McHolm receiving a chromiumplated clock, and Miss Peck a silk umbrella." The hostess's frock was of ivory crepe alonza. Miss McHolm wore blue pin-spot mariette, and Miss Peck cerise' sand-crepe. The guests included former members of the staff (Mrs. W. Leech, Mrs. B.
