TRADE NAMES
REGISTRATION SYSTEM
(By Tv.'psrrinh —Ires. ascnrlatimi.) ■ AUCKLAND, This Day.
A report dealing with the registration of trade names was considered by the Auckland Chamber of Commerce today. The report recommended that the onus of determining who were the proprietors of a business should not be on the creditor but on the debtor, and that some system of registration should be adopted requiring all businesses other than registered companies to disclose the names of the proprietor.
It was considered that it should be compulsory for (1) every business house whose trade name did not disclose the names of the proprietors to show on the premises, letterheads, and other printed matter the names of the proprietors; (2) any alterations in the ownership or proprietorship, to be notified to the registrar and all creditors.
The report was adopted for reference to the Associated Chambers.
