SIR ALBERT KITSON
LONDON, March 8. Sir Albert Ernest Kitson, • the geologist, is. dead.
Sir Albert Kitson was one of England's foremost geologists. He conducted geological surveying in Australia, Nigeria, and the Gold Coast from 1899 to 1911. He travelled extensively throughout the world examining the geological and mineral fields, among his important discoveries being black and brown coalfields and oil-shale deposits in Nigeria; manganese, diamond, and bauxite fields on the Grold Coast, and glacial and fossil beds in Victoria, Tasmania, and West Africa. Sir Albert was a member of many leading scientific organisations, and he published numerous papers on geology and metallurgy.
