FRIESLAND IN FAVOUR
(Special from "Limited.") HAWERA, This Day. Friesland is in great heart at present and perhaps much better than at this time last year, when he was narrowly beaten by Silver Ring in the Thompson Handicap at Trentham.. In his last gallop here Friesland held Lowenberg easily over five furlongs. Friesland will carry heaps of Hawera support. The Stratford Club has received satisfactory nominations for its one-day meeting next week. The fixture will be of a provincial nature, as not many outside horses are likely to attend. A schooling bout over five fences was staged yesterday by King Pluto, Red Manfred, and Indiscretion. King Pluto has improved in his jumping and went really well to finish several lengths in front of Indiscretion in a
fas(>run circuit. Red Manfred is still very slow at his fences. Flying Chief has recovered from the soreness that prevented his running on, the second day at Te Aroha. He can be ticked off to run prominently at 'Stratford. Supreme Court will probably be sent to the West Coast of the South Island for his next racing.
