OBITUARY
CAPTAIN HENRY COLLINS
The death occurred suddenly in Wellington today of Captain Henry Collins, until, recently harbourmaster at Nelson. Captain Collins was born in Nelson on May 29, 1876, and for many years was at sea in various types of ships, being trained in sail. After lengthy experience as master and mate in steamers, he joined the service of the Union Company in October, 1901, as third officer of the Rotomahana. He was on that vessel for some time, transferring to the Poherua, Penguin, and Haupiri, later becoming chief officer of the old Wainui. In September, 1904, he was appointed harbourmaster at Nelson, ' a position which he held until his retirement several weeks ago.
