(British Official Wireless.)
(Received March- 8, 1.20 p.m.)
RUGBY, March ,7.
A private member's Bill to end exports of work-worn horses for slaughter or for further work abroad passed its second reading in the House of Commons after the Minister of Agriculture had promised and asked for co-opera-tion with the promoters to remove from the Bill during the Committee stage certain provisions which he criticised.
The Minister pointed out that traffic was already so reduced by the existing legislation that the measure would only affect some fifty horses a.year.
