WEDDING
FALCONER—SANDERS
A wedding was celebrated at Khandallah Presbyterian Church recently when Miss Elsie Kathleen Sanders, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Sanders, North Vancouver, was married to Mr. Keith Alexander Falconer, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. S. Falconer,' Khandallah, and grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. A. R. Falconer, Dunedin. The church was decorated by friends of the bride with many coloured hydrangeas.
The bride, who was escorted by her uncle, Mr. C. W. Ross, of Nelson, wore a beautiful gown of magnolia satin royal. The panel at the back was trimmed with tiny buttons and formed a train. The sleeves, which were cowled at the top, were tight-fitting from the elbow to the wrist, finished with tiny buttons. The veil was of tulle and was arranged on the head with a coronet of orange blossoms. The bride carried a lovely spray of roses. She was attended by Miss Ruth Falconer (Auckland) and Miss Colina Falconer (Dunedin) and by a small flower girl, Alison Scott. The bridesmaids wore charming frocks of lavender embossed taffeta, with square necks stitched with silver. The sleeves were puffed and the skirts had deep quilted hems. Violet flowers were worn in the hair and they carried sheaves of mauve gladioli and pink roses. The flower girl was dressed in pink floral organdie.
The bridegroom was attended by Mr. W. Burnett (Auckland) and Mr. K. Ross (Nelson). The ushers were Messrs' Douglas Aitchison and Laurie Williams.' The ceremony was performed by the Rev. D. D. Scott.
A reception was held at the Lyceum Club rooms, where Mrs. E. Aitchison, aunt of the bride, and Mrs. C. S. Falconer received the guests. Mrs. Aitchison wore an amethyst frock with black coat and hat. Mrs. Falconer wore a wine-coloured frock with hat to match. Both carried posies of roses.
The toast of the bride and bridegroom was proposed by Mr. Don Scott. The toasts of the parents of the bride and bridegroom were proposed by Mr. C. W. Ross and Mr. Malcolm Fraser. Congratulatory speeches were also made by the Rev. W. Gilmour and Mr. Chas. Bollard. Pianoforte items were given by Miss Doris Morgan and elocutionary items by Mrs. R. Miller and Miss Miriel Aitchison. The wedding cake was made and given by Miss Falconer of Dunedin, the bridegroom's aunt, and it was much admired. Among the guests were relatives from Auckland, Hastings, Masterton, Nelson. Oamaru, and Dunedin.
The bride's travelling frock was a brown ensemble with lace blouse and smart redingote with wide revers. With this was worn a brown coat and velour felt hat
