SALE OF SILVER RIVER

On the eve of his departure on an extended visit to England and the Continent, Mr. C. Haldane, of Hastings, placed all his thoroughbred horses in training on the market and the first to be sold is Silver Eiver. The purchaser is Mr. J. B. Spears, of Wellington, and he has sent Silver Hiver to Awapuhi to join his other horse, Alby, in G. W. New's stable.

Silver River is a three-year-old gelding by Roydon from Starmist, a halfsister to Limelight, Paperchase, Starshooter, and Metal Bird. The purchase price was stated to be £350. Silver River won the hack sprint on the first day of the recent Woodville Meeting.
