"The Davis Cup is not: entertai* ment, but is an event of national1 inter* est," is. the judgment of the court which decided against the Revenue Depart" ment in claiming £10,000 entertainment tax on the French matches in 1932, 1933, and 1934, when £100,000 was taken. ■ , ■
The Tennis Federation contended that the matches were only sporting demonstrations.
