The Labour Party has made six gains on its strength before the election, including two in North Kensington.
The London County Council consists of 124 councillors elected by the ratepayers and 20 aldermen elected by the councillors. All councillors retire automatically every three years. At the last election Labour gained the majority of seats, and prior to yesterday's election there were 69 Labour members and 55 Municipal Reform, members. With the exception of four seats for the City of London, for which Municipal Reform candidates were returned unopposed, all the seats were contested. • Labour was represented by 120 candidates, Municipal Reform by 116, Liberals by 18, Fascists by 6, and Independents by 3. ■ v
