BOY DRUMMER'S BIG WAGE
"Bobby" Brown, the 144-year-old son of a London fireman, living at Earlsfield, has been chosen to play the drums in Sydney Liptons band at Grosvenoi- House at a salary of £12 a week, said the "Daily Telegraph." He was chosen from more than 50 professional band drummers, and Mr. Lipton said that he would be invited to sign a contract for a year. If the boy continued to progress, Mr. Lipton added, he might eventually earn as much as £30 a week. "Bobby" Brown began his training at the/ age of nine, with knives on a table.
