Red Flush came through his. Nelson engagements with great credit, and stood head, and shoulders above the other two-milers, of whom Reno will.be.the only one to oppose him again in the Wanganui Handicap next Saturday. Red Flush won the Nelson Cup from Ideal and Loretta in 4ihin 32 3-ssec, and from 36yds i in the President'? Handicap on the second day he made even "easier work of it in defeating Loretta and Reno in 4min 27 4-ssec, a record for the track and horses of the class. He appears to have the edge on the majority of his Wanganui opponents.

Nothing on the limit of the Wanganui Cup can stand up to Red Flush's form on past deeds. Reno, Levity, and Frank Best.may be the best of these. Reno broke 4min 32sec at Nelson. Frank Best, who took some time to develop solidness, has won his races at the right end, and is expected to stay reasonably well. >■ Levity on occasions has won . like a really good horse.
