FATALITY IN BATHS

A girl named Myrtle Frame, aged 16 years, died while swimming in the Oamaru Municipal Baths this afternoon. She was,swimming among other girls whep . she suddenly sank- June Craddock; aged about 16, got her out, but artificial respiration ■ failed.
This is the first fatality that has ever occurred: in these baths.
Witness: Sit down and drink beer— and listen to the wireless, etc.
Mr. Mosley: You used Morgan's as a kind of a club?
Witness: Yes, as a club. Mr. Mosley: And drank 29s worth of beer there every week?
Witness said that he and his friends used to drink beer'at Morgan's at most times, in the year.
At the conclusion of the evidence, witness claimed 21 • bottles seized by the police and produced in court.
Mr. Mosley: There's very little chance of your getting them. Stand down. Proceedings were adjourned for a week.
