LOWER HUTT BAPTISTS
The eighth annual report of the Lower Hutt Baptist Church shows that the church, had just closed one of the services. The report showed a "healthy There had been a 27 per cent, advance in membership, and a 47 per cent, advance in adult attendances at church services. The report showed- a 'healthy state of affairs and a, very real deepening of spiritual life."., The attendances, at the mid-week meetings had increased, and prayer meetings had been inaugurated at 7.30 a.m. and 6.40 p.m. on Sundays. The largest Sunday attendance during the year had been 245 on the occasion of a visit from Mr. Edwin Orr. A men's missionary meeting had been established, also a men's and women's Bible Class, and a branch of the Christian Endeavour Society. The Sunday school attendances were increasing arid scholars were most successful in. the Wellington. Sunday School Union examination, one scholar being second highest in the list of all entrants., During the year the Ladies' Guild .had done most useful service. The treasurer's report showed that the regular finance-of the church had improved .50 per. cent, and that at a special thanks offering the sum of £119 had been raised. The report expressed the confidence arid high regard in which the minister, the Rev. Hayes Lloyd, was held in the church.
