The following.is an extract from a letter received by a Dunedin resident from Mr. W. J. Jordan, High Commissioner in London:. "I have your letter in which.you enclose a clipping from a newspaper .attributing certain remarks to Sir-James Parr as to the opportunities ' ofj^employment .for New Zealand girls-In this office. lam certainly not able to confirm the information given.as my.' start is at present' complete arid I' can see .no prospect .of any further appointments--being-.made in the'near, future'.';'As' a matter of fact I have already in hand.;applications from quite a number, of New Zealand girls ,some.of whom are in the Public Service and are, desirous of being transferred.to this office."
