Alexander Goldmines "turns- for the month of February is as follows.—Battoy department, 400 tons of ore crushed for 2220z 17dwt melted gold. Cyanide department, 258 tons of sands treated for 620z 17dwt bullion. Total estimated value. £1075. In addition to the above, 8.7 tons of concentrates were saved. Valued at £245. In estimating the above values, gold has been taken at 145s per fine oz. BIG RIVER. ' Big River Goldmines reports operations in the company's mine as follows:—Reef has been struck in the south end of No. 5 level. Stone is from 2 to 3ft wide, and has every appearance of widening. Reef is going strong j underfoot arid generally looks most promising.
