EDUCATION IN WAIRARAPA

(Special to the "Evening Post.")

MASTERTON, This Day.

Paying a tribute yesterday to what he called the wonderful educational history of the Wairarapa district,. the Minister of Education (the Hon. P. Fraser) said he admired greatly the provision made for education in Masterton by the early pioneers, who established the Trust Lands Trust, He wanted to correct any impression that conceivably might get abroad that the present Government, or any Government, would interfere with the disposal of the Trust Lands Trust's money (Hear, hear.) He had heard of that impression that day for the first time, and hoped he would never hear any more about it. He would like, however, to have a discussion with the members of the Trust Lands Trust some time or other with regard to how, perhaps, agricultural education, or perhaps some other form of education, could best be advanced, with the Trust, the Education Department and other educational bodies working in close co-operation.
