SALES GIRLS' STRIKE
"SIT-DOWN" TACTICS IN
DETROIT
DETROIT, March 1,
. The Woolworth Company has threatened to close all its 40 10-cent stores here if 100 sales girls continue a "sitdown" strike.
The largest downtown store has indicated that it may not open tomorrow. It employs a total of about 1000 persons. The strike started in the middle of the Saturday night rush. Customers were asked to leave immediately and the doors were locked.
