LOWER HUTT BAPTISTS

. ■ Special services were held in the Lower.Hutt Baptist Church on Sun-day,--marking, the. culmination of a month of prayer. The annual harvest festival services-were also held. The . church was filled at both morn-. ;ing and evening services, and' there was special singing by the choir. The soloist at the evening service was Miss Ailsa Nicol, who has recently returned frbm musical studies in England.

The church had been beautifully decorated, with flowers, and the gifts of fruit and. vegetables were arranged in front of the building. After a sermon delivered by the Rev. H.; Lloyd, all the members walked to the front of the church, each to offer a gift. ■ At the Communion service, which followed the evening service, Mr. Lloyd announced- that" £119 had been the result, of'the thank offering. • , The day concluded with a short praise service and the singing of the Doxology.; .."'■•■•.
