PAREMATA CLUB

On Sunday the Paremata Boating Club held a sealed handicap event for all classes for the Burrow Memorial Cup. Kuini easily outsailed all other competitors to cross the line first, but was fourth on handicap adjustment. The Takapuna Marie, which won the cup, gave the Idle Alongs and 14-footers some spirited" opposition. Also started: Juanette, Robin, and Adair. Races for the women were held in the afternoon in a good breeze. The ebb spring tide, however, appeared to worry some' of the competitors and stern-boards were not infrequent off Shearers Point. ' There were three heats over a short course and the final prbved an exciting tussle. Mrs. Davis won by 9 seconds and received a great ovation 'from spectators ashore and afloat. ■
