MINING RETURNS

(By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright.) GREYMOUTH, February 28. The Mossy Creek dredge return was 16oz .7dwt from 6000 yards for 130 hours. DUNEDIN, February 28. The-Waipapa Beach Company reports a return of lloz sdwt for 131 hours' dredging. ... The Big River Gold Mines, Ltd., report for the week ending February 23 is as follows:—Surface: Repairs to the engine-room culvert have been delayed by heavyrain. -The.water is at present getting away by the open cut. No. 4 level:-The south stopehas been finished and the. pass, timbered up to No. 3 level and-the men transferred to deepen the centre winze. No. 5 level: The rise was advanced 10ft through reef track. The total distance now up is 48ft 6in. Placed timber in south drive, the face of which' has been advanced 10ft through reef track. The distance now in is. 80ft. Inspected reef in "Prima Donna" section, which is exposed in the creek bed for about 30ft in length and shows clean stone more than sft in width. Nemona Gold Dredging Company, Ltd., report for the week ending February 27:—Owing to the dredge being stopped three ■ days last week putting on a new stacker belt and stone shute, no wash-up will take place this week. MARTHA MINE. The following information has been cabled to London by the Martha Gold Mining Company (Waihi). Limited:— For the period ended February 13. comprising 30J- days, 25,635- tons of oro were crushed for a result of 6485 fine ounces of gold and 39,527 fine ounces of silver. This includes 2647 tons mined from the Grand Junction area, which yielded 691 ounces of gold and 1966 ounces of silver. No. 3 level: Driving south on the east section of the Edward lode: The first 15ft is ore of good grade about 2ft wide. No. 7 level: North branch of the Martha lode: Gidden's, south rise, is commenced and the first 32ft assays 14s a ton and the next 35ft is ore of good grade. The width of the lode is about 21ft. No. 9 level: North branch of Martha lode: The drive east has holed through to the former workings at 177 ft. TALISMAN DUBBO. A telegram was received today at 9 a.m. by the Wellington Stock Exchange, reading as follows:—Fortyeight tons treated Golden Dawn battery; approximate realisation £459— Talisman Dubbo.
