EXTENDED ACTIVITIES

■ The annual report of the Wellington Returned Sol diers' Association Choir, which was'presented to the .. annual meeting,: shows that, the choir, is in a healthy position financially and has a membership'of thirty. - . , The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—Executive committee, Messrs. J. H. McKay, S. Porter, O. Foote, P. J. Paget, and George Holloway; librarian, Mr. J. Hastings; secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. G. Moore; conductor, Mr. Frank J.- Oakes.

The activities of the choir are to be extended during the corning year by a greater, number of concerts to be given at. the various hospitals and homes in the city and suburbs. As such is a part of the returned soldiers' choir's functions under its constitution, the newly-elected executive is commissioned with the completion of an itinerary for this object. Special references were made by members of the devoted services given by Mr. G. Holloway as accompanist, to Mr. J..G. Moore as secretary-treasurer, and to Mr. J. Hastings, "librarian. The conductor, Mr. Frank Oakes, was congratulated on his work with the choir, and the interest which he has created at the weekly practices, together with the wonderful improvement achieved. The music library is being added to by several entirely new part-songs, which are to'be presented at the Anzac night concert.

At the conclusion of the business Lktfit.-Colonel A. Cowles, V.D., assured members of his best interest and support at all times, and expressed the hope that members would show their appreciation by supporting loyally their conductor.
